IAEA's Preliminary Report on #Fukushima I Nuke Plant Accident

It is posted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

I haven't read it yet. I figure it is like reading TEPCO's press release...

It's even worse than a TEPCO press release.... It's hideous.. Nothing about the meltdowns or where the Cores are right now. And even claiming that "To date no health effects have been reported in any person as a result of radiation
exposure from the nuclear accident."....

And where's the non-public version of the so called 'report' ?
This one is total crap.

The language is very guarded, but there's lots of criticism throughout.

Here's a sample: "The tsunami hazard for several sites was underestimated."

That right there is open condemnation of TEPCO and NISA. Note they say "several sites"... meaning it's not only Fukushima Dai-ichi that's sited wrong and/or inadequately protected.

The report is dynamite, especially for Japan where people are accustomed to reading between the lines.

I feel i need to say something but theres not alot to say...breaking this down point by point is worthless given the evidence that is out there in public domain....no health effects because of radiation!!!!.... do they think the japanese people and everyone else are going to put up with this level of corporate mitigation...well we\they have so far!!....
cant wait for the report on the 24th approx...should be a right rivetting mitigation piece...i should have been a lawyer for these people because a) i would know whats going on b) i would be making a fortune... c) i would be hartless enough to not care what the effects are on the public and would therefore be happy... oh and d) i might get a cosy place in one of those underground bunkers that dont exist for the the like of me and thee...
sorry about the rant its just what i think...
god bless all especially the onsite tepco workers....real heroes

"The IAEA mission urges the international nuclear community to take advantage of the unique opportunity created by the Fukushima accident... "

Love the positive expressions "take advantage" and "opportunities" in the last sentence. The two PR people did not just sit around watching CNN in the hotel. I'm sure the evacuees also appreciate the opportunity to take advantage of living in a new place than before.

After reading this drivel one must ask exactly what is the point behinds sich a powder-puff, come lapp-dog, come do-nothing institution as the IAEA?
