IAEA's Chief Amano Does #Fukushima I Nuke Plant Tour

The video of his July 25 tour of the crippled plant has been uploaded by the IAEA.

As they approach Reactor 3, the survey meter keeps beeping, alerting them to a high radiation level even at that distance (about 1:32 into the video).

Devastation from tsunami looks just as bad as in the earlier videos (about 2 minutes into the video).

Toward the end of the video, the survey meter shows "88.3". I suppose it is in microsievert per hour.

Nice job of showing that reading inside the vehicle. What a joke!

this is now at four months (plus) and the place is still clearly a dangerous disaster area and, for whatever reasons, almost no attempt to clean up the environment.

(you're right Matt about the bus ride. But there were some eye opening views, like the massive twisted tank .. the forces from the tsunami to do that are ginormous).

And the body language of Amano when the beepers went off.. he kept backing away, almost ran back to the bus.

there are more people in the 'anti-quake' building (cough cough).. then there are outside getting things done.

four months! nothing of any substantial recovery. more and more radiation hour by hour, day by day.

'tepco will never afford the gigamassive compensation to come'

as the countryside goes radioactive and the food chain mutates the damage will be beyond any previously imagined armageddon.

they have released an evil far greater then the mythical satan could come up with. in fact, satan may now be an ally, cause without an earth and humans, who is he going to tempt and torment?

we are beyond desperate need of an international taskforce, and dare I say it, maybe of a military type. cause this catastrophe requires immediate and radical action. now !

not much point in me raving about it though. nothing will be done. japan is the first ever country threatened with extinction.

(i mean the entire physical country, not just the people, the flora, the fauna, the water, the air).
