Ministry of Education's Radiation Map for Tokyo and Kanagawa

"Radiation? What radiation?" must be the message from the Ministry which has been doing the aerial survey of radiation in Tohoku and Kanto.

They did Tokyo and Kanagawa from September 14 to 18, using one helicopter that flew 10 times over the area. The radiation detection device on board the helicopter measured gamma radiation from the radioactive materials deposited on the ground from 150 to 300 meters off the ground. The measurement of about 300 to 600 meters radius below the helicopter is then averaged out. Here's the report by the Ministry (PDF).

As far as I know, there is no plan for the national government to conduct the ground-level measurement outside Fukushima Prefecture.

First, let's take a look at Tokyo.

Air radiation level at 1 meter off the ground:

Many residents have been measuring the radiation on the ground level in Tokyo, so have many organizations. Their measurement suggests much lighter blue colors for the eastern most one-quarter of Tokyo.

Cesium-134 and-137 deposition:

And Kanagawa.

Air radiation level at 1 meter off the ground:

Cesium-134 and -137 deposition:

Yokohama residents must be laughing at the Ministry's map, after over 100,000 becquerels/kg of radioactive cesium was detected on top of an apartment building.

What matters more in places like Tokyo and Kanagawa is the identification of hot spots and ultra-hot spots, which can only be done on the ground level. Measuring from the air and averaging out doesn't make sense, but then, that's how the government wants it done. It is not interested in details. The Tokyo Metropolitan government isn't interested in knowing the details either. Residents there are on their own.

The areas that have been mapped by the Ministry of Education so far:

Again, here's Professor Hayakawa's map:

It is amazing how they try to manipulate the maps, and show a vague desciption...no future for japan, it is sinking what many predicted many years ago.

I never thought those elements would be household names.

I constantly think of this these days.

Do we know how big was the roof and the weight of the sample? Cause anything bigger than 10m2 and 1Kg sample would fit the contamination measured in this survey

NRC Public Meeting on Petition to Decommission US GE Mark 1 Reactors

FREEZE OUR FUKUSHIMAS
http://video.nrc.gov

10/7, 10-12noon EST
National Call in Day to NRC

After Cherynobyl the US closed down Hanford, because of it's similar graphite design. Likewise, the US has multiple GE Mark 1 reactors of the same design as the failed Fukushima Daiichi reactors.

Please listen in and participate.

TEPCO's latest newsroom technical handout shows bright pictures of a new ancient ‘art-work’ finding from the coastline near Reactor 4. (Construction workers were digging new IAEA required, deeper pits for the backup generators - to be flooded in next tsunami). The astounded workers found a fishing net, TEPCO's digger-operating experts readily saw that it is over 4000 years old. On the excavation spot there were plenty of well preserved holes laying ten meters deep in the sand ... workers readily reconstructed the missing net-parts, and now this ancient art-piece will be positioned into the TEPCO's radiating HQ in Tokyo, main entrance. It will thus proudly display the world how remarkably TEPCO is committed in green values and history and environmental preservation... JiuJitsu Shimbum 10/07/2011

What was true? Nothing... = typical high quality fact filled TEPCO news handout.

Ending the Japanese government's misconduct and faceless gutter troll behavior towards the citizenry should be a terminus of a 6-lane freeway joining with the current American movement to erase the influence of the swine that deregulated the American banking and stock markets before installing 24/7 circle-jerkers to blow off SEC and FTC law enforcement duties. From behind the scenes, this same cabal controls the current presidency, and president, like a hand puppet. It is, after all, the exact same, unchecked few offenders at the top. 5 or 6 people. Surely we could get these arrests over in 3 hours. I know most of the military is waiting for the American congress to stop mewling and prancing to do it. The CFR promoted group in power in the U.S. is as worthy of the big swim as their proxies in Japan. As well as the ignoramouses who refuse to try to help improve the situation, believing a bearded man in the sky needs them up there instead of down here. My grandfather was a minister. Believe me. God does NOT want people like that up there. As far as I am concerned, they are free to swim.
The problem here is the people in control and the rest who hold us hostage.
