Gold, Oil Still Underperforming Other Commodities

Despite the spike of crude oil prices due to unrest in Middle East and North Africa, crude is still undererforming other commodities. So is gold. They have still some catching up to do.

I plotted the performance chart with gold, silver, crude (Texas), copper, wheat, cotton, and two Nasdaq momo stocks (NFLX and AAPL) for good measures. (Interesting to note that NFLX pretty much correlates with cotton, and AAPL fits pretty well with copper and wheat.)

To the top economists at the Federal Reserve (like this Canadian), they only show how great the world economy is expanding, that demand has grown exponentially for .... cotton and Netflix streaming video service...?
