#Fukushima I Nuke Plant: Photo Right Before the Tsunami on March 11, 2011

By the way, TEPCO released 600 photographs taken by its employees and workers from affiliate companies at the plant in the early days of the nuclear accident (starting March 11, 2011). They are only available at TEPCO's Photos and Videos site in Japanese. Look for entries that have September 11, 2012 date (2012年9月11日).

Here's the summary document (PDF) which lists the photos with brief descriptions, as well as thumbnails of photos of particular locations (from page 15).

Then, on the horizon, you see it coming.

I would certainly not want to see the scene in the second photo in person.

Thyroid cancer in children is extremely rare. 1 in 1,000,000 for kids from 5-9 years old, and only 15 in 1 million for teenagers. 1 child in 80,000 is ridiculous. Only 1% of all cancers in children is thyroid. No matter what these lying doctors tell us, this child contracted cancer from Fukushima fallout, and they're lying when they claim that cancer from fallout must take at least 4 years.

What does that have to do with the tsunami photos?

When a tsunami approaches, water withdraws like a low tide. So there is probably no water intake possible for the plant for a period (how long?). Assume that it was still intact after quake and before tsunami, how long can it maintain cooling without taking in any water? In other words, even without tsunami impact damage, could this alone lead to disaster as well?

Anon above, I vaguely remember reading about the pump unable to pump water from the ocean. I'll look.

Extraordinary pictures on the site.
BTW the water goes away, but comes soon back, as you can see in the second pic : the wave breaker is almost under water, when the huge one is still away.

At last, I never understood how they could have such low wave protection. I saw some in the very south of Izu peninsula (in the axis of the fault to Mnt Fuji), before a smal bay, protecting a village. It was much higher.

One can see extensive damage already in the first photo. I have doubts that cooling was happening at that point.
