#Radioactive Japan with Nothing Better to Do: Police and Japan Coast Guard Held Joint Anti-Terrorism Exercise to Protect #Fukushima I Nuke Plant from Terrorists

Jiji Tsushin's article has no information as to who the Police or the Coast Guard think would be the supposed "terrorists" who would attack Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant.

Jiji Tsushin (5/11/2013):

原発テロ想定、合同訓練=警察と海保、福島第2で-特殊部隊も参加し「銃撃戦」

Police and Coast Guard held joint exercise against terrorism on nuclear plant at Fukushima II (Daini), with special force staging "gun battle"

On May 11, Police and Japan Coast Guard held a joint exercise on the assumption that terrorists were attacking Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant. Vulnerability of Fukushima I Nuclear Plant was exposed in the March 11, 2011 disaster, and work toward decommissioning is on-going today in a situation that is still unstable. The exercise was open to the public, as there are those who have expressed doubt about the security system. A special force for counter-terrorism also participated in a mock gun battle.

The exercise was carried out at Fukushima II (Daini) Nuclear Power Plant, about 10 kilometers south of Fukushima I (Daiichi) Nuclear Power plant. About 80 policemen from the Fukushima Prefectural Police Firearms Countermeasure Unit which is stationed at the nuclear plant and from the Chiba Prefectural Police Special Force "SAT" (Special Assault Team), and about 70 officers of Japan Coast Guard including the Coast Guard Counter-Terrorism Unit participated. The joint exercise against terrorist attack on Fukushima I Nuke Plant was the first after the March 11, 2011 disaster.

Jiji has a photo of Coast Guard officers with machine guns, dressed in black-and-yellow radiation protection gear and looking like a bee or fly, having subdued the "terrorists" on board a ship:

Let's see... To disable the plant and stop the cooling of the reactors and Spent Fuel Pools, all you need would be to release a boat-load of rats and mice and wait... Or simply wait until all those huge steel tanks that are not welded start to leak, in about 3 years. Or just continue to let TEPCO do the work and wait.

In the time it would take the Japanese government to actually launch a counter offensive, any terrorist with half as much sense as a Tokyo mayor would have already done incomprehensible amounts of damage.

No, if Japan wants to prevent a terrorist incident at Fukushima, they should remove TEPCO from the management of the clean-up and start in earnest to take the needed steps to protect the public while the site is cleaned up and decommissioned.

And don't even talk to me about restarting any reactors until this mess is under control.

It's just kabuki, to give the populi the idea that the government is 'on top of it'. It's off course just a diversion to keep the real problems out of sight.

And if things go really wrong, they can always say, that the plant was attacked by terrorists, dispite all the efforts they made to prevent that... ( just to save their face ).

It's just kabuki and nothing else. It seems to me that we are all waiting untill it goes really wrong over there. It can happen tomorrow, it can happen today, it can happen in 10 more years, but it's just a matter of time, so let the kabuki keep going on for the time being.

RE: your last paragraph

You have some really dark humor going on.

Of course every nuke plant is a very soft target and everyone including the bad guys know this.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we all appreciate and love what you have been doing.

Thanks,

To me, it's not a kabuki theater, having been to that and other traditional Japanese theater performances in the past. In kabuki, both actors, support staff (like "kuroko") and audience fully knows what they have is a theater, make-believe, and when the actors and audience see "kuroko" do his work on stage to assist the actors, they know the rules that they are not supposed to see him.

In this counter-terrorism training case, it's more like 10 year olds who fully believe Disneyland is real. They are not doing this for a show. They truly believe in it.

Good point, I agree with your distinction, to call what's going on these days 'kabuki theater' is a harsh disservice to the infinitely more sophisticated kabuki theater.

I would describe the terror drills going on here as 'the mafia kingpin carrying out 'terror drills' to convince his clients that he's keeping them safe.' In reality, the danger comes from the government and its goons, its only your Stockholm Syndrome that makes you believe the opposite.

Kill List - Midwest
Well if the President can have a Kill List, why can't the good guys have a Kill List.

Here are the biggest nuclear threats in the Midwest. They are some of the oldest, growing up around Chicago and the famous Argonne National Lab who did open air experiments to intentionally make reactors go critical and explode. Seriously, Mr. Gunderson pointed that one out to me. See the video at the bottom for documentation of this "Experiment". Nuke plants can blow up like minor nuclear bombs, the proof is in the video. The pro-nukers hate this one.

Here is the Midwest map and explanation.

My kill list is, in order of priority, but will take any opportunistic weaknesses that present.

Kewaunee – CONFIRMED KILL
Palisades (Clunker with lots of problems run by Slumlord Entergy, on Lake Michigan)
Lasalle (2 Boiling Water like Fuku, even a lightning strike just took them down)
Cook (On Lake Michigan, 37 YO)
Point Beach (on Lake Michigan, 41 YO, and huge uprate to 118%)
Dresden (2 Boiling Water like Fuku, 41YO and huge uprate to 117%)
Quad Cities (2 Boiling Water like Fuku, 39 YO and huge uprate to 117%)
Monticello (Boiling Water like Fuku, 42 YO)

And while the PR "everything is OK NOW" distractions are happening
Somewhere the Japanese Government is telling lies to cover up the Special rapporteurs comments of Nov 2012

HAS THE UN “OPTIONAL PROTOCOL” FAILED

FOR THE CHILDREN OF

FUKUSHIMA?

…On a more technical point, it was explained that annual exposure to radiation was at the level advised by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP)….

Japanese government delegation statement to the UN concerning the Fukushima Nuclear disaster April 2013

more here
http://nuclear-news.net/2013/05/11/fukushima-school-students-forced-to-clean-swimming-pool-without-proper-safety-equipment-%E6%9C%AA%E6%88%90%E5%B9%B4%E3%81%8C%E9%99%A4%E6%9F%93%E4%BD%9C%E6%A5%AD%E3%82%92%E5%BC%B7%E3%81%84/

and the source document can be found here

http://nuclear-news.net/2013/05/08/un-report-march-2013-japanese-delegation-to-the-un-spreads-lies-and-deception/

So, the Japanese are not aware of the UN lies and the cut off dates for appeal.. 17 may 2013 (not long now!)

and the western mob arent aware of bad radiation practise on-going in Japan.. (supported by more lies to the UN council)
And why is the source document of 30th April 2013 on an arabic section of the UN website?? hmmm?

at least bloggers are talking about it! arent they? :(

Anon at 8:13PM, students and pupils in Tohoku and Kanto have been washing the swimming pools, weeding the school yards and scooping out the sludge from the drains ever since the early summer of 2011. So what's the big deal now?

Oh and they've been digging out bamboo shoots, harvesting green tea, planting rice, and eating foodstuff made in Fukushima in their school lunch. School athletic meets are done on dirt ground.

anon @8.47

its more the cover up at the UN juxtaposed against the video of young people "sucking it up" while the Japanese delegation to the UN is being "transparent", "looking after the medical needs"

after hiroshima the limit was alot lower than the present post fukushima levels.. makes a lie on the delegations claim of suitable life imo

and the UN thing is what is NOT being talked about.. that was my main point in posting these 2 articles.. to let people know and to hope someone gets a comment in to rebuff these lies.. or we will have statements like "no one died from the radiation effects in fukushima, transparent, below advised limit (new advised limit?) and then you have a recap of what the people of pipryat went through (out of 44,000 people moved from pipryat to kiev only 40 percent survive today, most died before the age of forty.. no stats! real numbers!)
and A Cameron a belarus worker was told to downplay the information she gleaned concerning chernobyl (this statement on video 2013) she is a fellow of the Imperial college University london London.. so WHO is lying? do you have any IaEA?

the children of fukushima will suffer and the fat cats are at the UN quaffing champagne and glad everything is going well without oversight! end of game 17 may 2013
then you have to start the whole process for the evacuation of children from the more contaminated areas again! :(
the operational protocol was their best chance at getting justice :(
peace

Wouldn't it be the ultimate in universal mockery if while the anti-terrorism excercises were going on a big earthquake and a resulting huge tsunami hit the NPP again. Not really that far fetched except to the Japanese who imagine an Al Qaeda hit would be more troubling, and more likely???
