What, no pictures of Japan's new glow-in-the-dark snow?

Anon at 1:03AM, I hear such snow can be found in the United States these days, by people armed with Geiger counter.

I was only joking. Of course there is no radioactive snow in Japan.
We all know that the radioactive leaks from Fukushima are completely confined to the Fukushima harbour just like Abe said.
We all know that Tepco can be relied upon to do an outstanding job in cleaning up the small problems at Fukushima Daichi, then everyone from the exclusion zone will be able to go back to their homes soon.
We all know that the reports of highly radioactive black substance in Tokyo are just baseless rumours.
We all know that increase of child thyroid cancer has nothing to do with radiation.
So we can all sleep well knowing that the small problems at Fukushima are being well managed and Tepco and the various ministries are being completely honest, and acting with the greatest integrity.

Now...about that glow in the dark snow....

Snow and rain are naturally radioactive with short-lived naturally occurring radionuclides, and that's the same anywhere in the world.

Yup, snow, wind and rain are not transport mechanisms for 'locally'(lol) deposited radionuclides.

Do you believe that laprimavera?

It's funny how some people laugh at facts... until they hit them.

"naturally radioactive" is not the same as man-produced... for one.

Power plants produce radionuclides that provoke higher occurences of certain types of cancer around power plants. So why DENY that ACCIDENTS do ?

It's not the matter of belief. It's the matter of nuclide analysis using germanium semiconductor detector, with spectrum analysis showing peaks for bithmus and lead (uranium series).

Laprimavera forgive me for asking but it seems as if you are saying the snow has been analyzed with germanium semiconductor detector and radiation levels are not elevated?

Anon at 6:37AM, yes. Two years ago. Here's one: http://securitytokyo.com/data/s_shinjuku.html

"Cesium in Tokyo's snow" was thoroughly debunked in Japan two years ago. I guess the news didn't reach the English-speaking world.
