#Fukushima I Nuke Plant: TEPCO To Put Cover Over Reactor 1 in June

"When it stinks, put the lid on it." (A Japanese saying)

TEPCO has released the image of the cover over the Reactor 1 reactor building. The work is to be commenced in June. The cover is supposed to reduce the amount of release of radioactive materials into the air.

Well since the recent venting operation was supposed to decrease the airborne radiation in reactor building #1 96% and failed I don't see this untested boondoggle as working any better. I remember when these buildings first blew up TEPCO officials were quick to assure everyone that the outer shell of the building wasn't important. Now we come to find out that was just one of their many lies. How are they going to work inside these pup tents? They can't lower the inside radiation levels and now they are going to increase the contamination by trying to contain it. Does this mean TEPCO is throwing in the towel on work inside?
