at a car exporter in Kawasaki City, in Kanagawa Prefecture.
At least, used cars for export get tested for radiation. And those cars rejected for export for high radiation? Where will they go? (Anecdotal evidence suggests they are simply sold inside Japan.)
From Sankei Shinbun (10/17/2011):
川崎市は17日、同市川崎区東扇島の中古車輸出会社に運び込まれた乗用車1台から毎時20・38マイクロシーベルトの放射線量を検出したと発表した。市は「人体に直ちに影響がある数値ではない」としている。
Kawasaki City announced on October 17 that a used car brought in to a used car exporter in Higashi Ogijima in Kawasaki-ku, Kawasaki City tested 20.38 microsieverts/hr radiation. According to the city, "That level of radiation does not have immediate effect on human body."
市によると、検出された車は千葉県のオークション会場で競り落とされ、輸出手続きのため川崎市の会社に運び込まれた。以前は福島県のいわきナンバーだったという。ケニアに輸出される予定だったが、競り落とした業者に引き取られた。
According to the city, the car was auctioned off in Chiba, and brought to the exporter in Kawasaki City for export. The license plate number was previously that of Iwaki City in Fukushima Prefecture. The car was destined for Kenya, but instead the dealer who had won the car in the auction took it back.
川崎港に運び込まれる中古車について、市は毎時5マイクロシーベルトを超えた場合に通報するよう事業者に求めている。
The city requires the dealers to report if any used car brought to the port of Kawasaki [for export] exceeds 5 microsieverts/hour radiation.
Let's see. 20 microsieverts/hour, and if you are on the road 2 hours a day for one year you would get 14.6 millisieverts external radiation from the car alone. Since it is less than 20 millisieverts, that's nothing in the current Japan.
The residents who lived within the 20-kilometer radius from Fukushima I Nuke Plant have been returning to their homes to retrieve cars and other items from their homes. Movement of cars in and out of Fukushima Prefecture is not restricted, except for the 20-kilometer radius residents whose cars need to be checked for radiation at J-Village. Many cars out of Fukushima, even those within the 20-kilometer radius area, have been transported by land to various locations in Japan. Only when the cars are sold to the exporters, then they are tested for radiation.

Wonder WHO tests the cars??? The government? Are they going to do an honest job of it? Just curious..
OR..if they have a batch of cars..will they just AVERAGE the contaminiation, much the same way they are doing with the rice for export? And rice for AID to other countries??? Feel bad to be so negative, wish there was more trust the government was protecting citizens..and not making profits.
"That level of radiation does not have IMMEDIATE effect on human body."
This gives a completely new meaning to: "This car is hot!"
I would not put too much trust into the exporting entities and authorities in general. The importing countries have to check very careful to protect their citizen, like Singapore did with the vegetables in Spring.
They checked all imports from Japan, not only from certain regions. That's how they found the 'accidentally' mislabelled cabbage from Fukushima (the stickers on the box stated Hyogo). After that incidence and the ensuing complete destruction of the whole shipment (without reimbursement), no contaminated food imported from Japanese was found in Singapore any more.
This is the only way how companies and authorities learn, if you find some contaminated stuff during importation , destroy it and do not reimburse shipping company. Maybe even put a fine on them. Only if they loose money they will start to act properly, otherwise, they will continue to cheat as much as possible.
I have seen the enemy and it looks like this----
Simple enough in theory to control the corium, unless the blob was a 5000 degree, fluid mass of radioactive spewing mess, steam spitting, earthquake causing nightmare that also happened to be underneath a tangled blown up mess of steel and concrete (also very radioactive), and on the ocean, occasionally dipping into ground water with belches of steam between bouts of criticality, and of course always subject to more earthquake and tsunami, not to mention typhoons.
Now throw in a lying greedy corporate monopoly and a dysfunctional government without a real military force to take charge of the situation. Now throw in some old school corruption companies like GE who are now financial giants that also control the media. To add to the fold, place this in a country that respects and listens to their government almost without thinking and add an earthquake and tsunami of epic proportions to their woes.
Take this concoction and blend it with a financial and political world that is on the edge of revolt, and at least economic collapse. Now dumb down the populace with "Reality" shows and do an effective news blackout.
Finally, have the enemy come in 60 different types of radiation and chemical toxicity, each with specific countermeaures which are not available to the average joe. Complicate the issue with nuclear scientists who are beholden and filled with 4 decades of lies from regulatory agencies that have gone beyond just being captured by the industry that are supposed to control, they have launched into all out promotion of nuclear. Now make the enemy invisible, with no smell, and can only be detected by complicated instruments that are outside the financial range of most everyone affected. And make the enemies effects to occur mostly over a period of years of decades.
Throw on top of this, not just the sickness and death, but the actual destruction of the human DNA and all the DNA of the wonderful animals and plants that we have turned to serve our purposed, we are their caretakers and we are destroying their DNA, perhaps creating death or maybe monstrous mutations.
@Steveo:
Coincidentally I was awake for hours last night developing the same theme, only with numbers.
Numbers make the whole calamity more visible and less escapable. For instance, what would a 10% increase planet wide in cancers, viable genetic malformations, and immunodeficiencies cost the tax base of the "developed" world?
Not to mention that the tax base is shrinking as we speak.
One of my fears is that sufferers from radiation-induced illnesses will, ten or so years from now, be left with minimal care due to extreme lack of resources. Living Deaths indeed.
As too you point out the beautiful biosphere is looking to be wrecked.
For me the only hope is adjustment to reality. Anything less offers only a rapid descent into irremediable chaos.
Thanks for the inspiration.
PS of course like anyone else I can fire up a computer calculator.
the reading would equate to 0.18 Sv over a 24 hour day year?
- that is not trivial.
I have been lazy about my calculations so far. This is a breakthrough. Now I have a handle on the readings that are reported from Japan. Thanks for the post.
Yes, that sterility in a year for a male.
Actually, it is probably instant death breathing the dust in the vehicle from the alpha emitters.
Read between the lines.

Ten years maximum - from rad or fuel fumes - if u live in that hot rig. Then two years in the nice new hospitallier vat-i-CANCER-Center - until all your realty squeezed in the vat

So it goes. The worker mutANT is busy building his/her own happiness, well indoctrinated from kindergarten, cant see the UNholy see ... however, the Creator knew what they would do. Thus He prepared an escape for every individual willing to seek His advice.
And what would that advice be?
His advice :
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened..."

Hi time for ignorant to learn sm facts ...
FYI: Catholicism is paganism - idolatry, no connection with the Bible, none with Christianism. I guess a big surprise to you...
Jesuits: Loyola, who founded the jesuits in 15th century, was the mass-murderer of any Bible translator from Latin to folks. For three hundred years his vat-i-can troops had bonfires on city malls where any Bible translator/owner was to be burned alive. By papal order... Last millenium papal order inquisition has murdered one million per year...
Normal ppl wont sleep after seeing this; eventually will be also taken down as the original: INKWIZYCJA - POLSKIE NAPISY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hXwFr92mXU
The pancake story yall science lovin’ pagans all so happy about - is based on this very same Bible denying papal hoax: the Bible had to be destroyed as it states that Globe is a ball, rotating once a day while running its spiraling course... scientific fact.

Except that your Bible quote is from the current Bible, not the one that had to be destroyed[eye roll], and was put together in about 325 A.D. in Rome at the Council of Nicea gathering.
You are a fake.
.
Sorry but No. Pure fabrication. The Original Hebrew; Isaiah, about 3000 BC.
Btw. His Advice IS His advice. (I am irrelevant...)
You're afraid the Truth: if you would listen to His Advice, your life of lies would come stumbling down.
Whatever, you are now choosing your destiny while hiding like a coward behind foolish fictional accusations - not included in His Advice.
If you are planning to setup car hire business, well consider to buy Japanese cars because of its reliability and quality!
Well, according to the recent studies, used cars has no radioactive that can be harmful to humans.
Nice I also share with you something hope this helpful for you my friends The best way of making sure that you are not overpaying for the car is to use automotive websites like KBB.com (Kelley Blue Book) to get a good idea of what it’s currently worth. Finding out the true value of the car can also act as a basis for further negotiation, especially if you are leveraging problems with the car or flaws to the vehicle as a means for additional discounts from the original price. Check it out thanks.
