Senior Vice Minister Is Displeased with Ooi Protesters Who Blocked His Land Route to the Plant

Mr. Makino, Senior Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry who had to take a ferry boat to reach Ooi Nuclear Power Plant because of the only road to the plant was blocked by protesters and the police, is not happy with the protesters.

Sankei Biz (7/1/2012) reports:

【原発再稼働】「一歩踏み出した」経産副大臣、反対派には不快感

Restart of nuke plant: "One step forward", says Senior Vice Minister of Economy, while showing displeasure against the opposition

Seishu Makino, Senior Vice Minister of Economy, was present at the starting operation of Reactor 3 at Ooi Nuclear Power Plant on the night of July 1. Afterwards, he held a press conference via the monitor screen with the press corps who were at a different location in Ooi-cho. The tense-looking Senior Vice Minister told the press, "With the nation divided [over the restart], this is a one step forward toward the restart that the government cannot avoid."

 反対派グループによる道路封鎖で海路での現地入りせざるを得なかった点については「いろんな考えを持っていることは分からないではないが、ルールを踏み越えた行為は避けてほしい」と不快感を示した。

Commenting on the opposition group whose road blockade forced him to arrive at the plant by sea, he showed his displeasure by saying, "It's not that I don't understand people have different opinions, but I want them to observe the rules."

I guess he means citizens and residents of Japan cannot block a road that has been paved over and over again in a mint condition thanks to their tax money over the past 20 years (also known as "the Lost Decades"). Or maybe Mr. Makino got seasick.

And how about the government observing the rules? It sure does. Pro forma. On technicality. In an exemplary manner.

What he's got is something that too many public servants all around the world have: arrogance. They still think that they are like monarchs who can tell the people what to do instead of being told, as public servants, themselves what to do by the people.

it's public officials like Makino who make anarchy look good. at least in an anarchy, the sociopaths could be dealt with as they deserve to be.

If they can deny science, people should be able to ignore the rules.

You three commentators (and ex-skf) are spot on. Keep up the good work, we will defeat them.

I vote for the tribe of science to govern, not self involved political propagandists. When science is run for profit only, by business and defense interests, evidence-based science does not exist and is excluded entirely from government oversight of safety issues. Who would've thought in the name of security, we slowly cook everyone with radiation until generations forward are deformed and sterile? I wonder who might be blackmailing Japan to restart one or two reactors? Possibly the people they were processing enriched uranium for (warheads), that's who. This is speculation of course- ;)

I so much would like to ask him what he means by "rules".

It looks like by "rules" he means: "So that a few rich friends of my friends can make a buck, it's a clever thing for me to start again the death machines that spread the deadliest poisons around the globe so that babies without arms and legs and only one eye will be born and in the long term every living thing on this planet will be affected. And the becoming mums and dads of those babies have to shut up and not to stand in my way dancing and beating silly drums!"

Is this one of your rules, Mr. Seishu Makino?

But seriously, the arrogance displayed by these people is simply astounding. Is the political class of Japan Inc. really so well entrenched that they don't care anymore, or is this some weird cultural artifact? Is there much face loss in acknowledging pressure from the street? Or what?

I think its a weird cultural aspect of the Japanese, same stuff happened during the war...they were losing but got people making bamboo spears to beat the US... insanity prevails in Japan especially amongst the political class who are as nefarious as it gets..

Sorry for the Japan-bashing I see here; we're just as bad in the US and elsewhere, so why not admit it?

As a French citizen, I feel totally ashamed of Areva's mess and greed. MOX is French. The demonstrations in Tokyo should be happening here too and in all nuclear countries but apart from a few actions, we are not doing anything. Power corrupts, everywhere. When will we wake up? Let us all throw away TVs and challenge MSM, for life's sake. No half-life, full life.

No half-life, full life. Love it.

Always got to worry when a Senior Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry is guaranteeing safety - next we will probably hear their impasse forced the delay of the critical restart safety meeting - no pun intended!

OR NO half life, only life. JUST DO IT!

Well now the protesters know they need to block ALL access routes at the next protest. Maybe they can enlist some disgruntled fishermen next time.

"Minister for Ego, Tyranny and Incompetency"

LOL!!!! Some of Noda's protest posters said DOPE Anon 4:40 has come up with a great poster slogan for Mr. Makino.

Strontium-90 Threat Not Gone
http://www.nuclearcrimes.org/3-3.php

The Inconceivable Truth

Over several decades, myriad reckless activities related to nuclear weapons development involving nuclear powered satellites, megaton-range nuclear explosions in air and space, Stars Wars nuclear weapons-pumped lasers, and more, greatly polluted the biosphere and millions of human bodies while incredible efforts were undertaken by the U.S. government to bamboozle its citizens and others about the harmful effects on human biology from these widely released deadly, manmade radioactive substances. Science, justice, democracy and peace became victims of this all-out endeavor to distract the public about one little known Achilles Heel of the nuclear weapon, which is - as was secretly learned as early as 1945 with 'Trinity' - that such an exploded device easily disperses 'internal emitters' globally that do unbelievable damage to the health (across multiple generations) and also gene pools of virtually all species. The motivation for this great deception was to stay nuclear-armed and use the threat of nuclear attack to sustain and expand postwar U.S. empire.

i hope the Oi nuclear plant will obey all rules even if it should have a different opinion... 'cause the fukushima nuke sure didn't.

I guess, Makino, like everyone else, is entitled to an opinion. However, he apparently forgets that it's not the Japanese people who have to please him, but rather he, like any government official, should please THEM and do their will. The apparently complete ignorance of the opposition by the politicians is not acceptable!

Mr. Makino only cares about money and power not health not people, not nature, in short he is just another Bastard!

ONCE AN INTERNATIONAL INDEPENDENT ASSAY OF AIR AND WATER polluted by Tepco , shows the damage done by Tepco and the nuclear industry. His arrogance might be tamed. As the death from radiation poisoning shows an exponential rise in Japan , which WILL happen , perhaps the Japanese may tame him .
